Sheet Metal & HVAC

Since 101 Industries’ beginning in 1968, Sheetmetal and HVAC have always been one of the company’s largest departments. Our Sheetmetal and HVAC department is also closely tied to our Cladding department which is described separately.

Safety of our shop and field crews is a core value at 101 Industries. To ensure worker safety we verify competence and training of all shop workers with specific training on all automated equipment. The field crews are also trained and skilled in best trade practices for the projects. In addition to the field crew standard training, all field projects start with a Job Specific Safe Work Plan. This plan is developed by management with input from the foreman. Prior to starting a field project the Safe Work Plan is reviewed with all members of the crew. This practice ensures that all potential safety hazards are documented and discussed with a suitable safe action plan established before starting work. At 101 Industries we insist all managers, supervisors, and workers take an active roll in safety, personal protection and environmental protection

The field crews are skilled in all aspects of Industrial and Commercial HVAC and ventilation installation along with equipment handling and rigging. The crews often work at elevation, with cranes, or inside active facilities.

Our fabrication shop is fully stocked with modern, automated equipment to safely and efficiently produce industrial and commercial ducting from galvanized metal, aluminum, and stainless flat stock. We keep flat stock metal and plate work in stock from 28 gauge galvanized to 1/8” mild steel.

All fabrication work is done to SMACNA standards or the owner’s specifications. To efficiently achieve these goals, the shop has been stocked and organized with a 10 foot shear, 12 foot press break, 6 foot automated plate roll, various punches, hand breaks, and tig welding stations.

The installation crews also utilize our full fleet of aerial lift equipment, flat deck trucks, transport trailers and boom truck as needed to make the job proceed safely and efficiently.

Of course the sheet metal department is supported by the other departments that 101 Industries offers. When the job requires roofing of duct penetrations, structural supports and frames, cladding work, or piping connections we have the skilled people to offer the proper service in these areas. All of our departments are staffed with ticketed journeymen with BC trades qualifications. Having the right person for the job is the basis of our motto “Quality through Craftsmanship”.
