101 Industries' structural steel field crews are CWB certified for field erection and field welding techniques. Our field crews are led by seasoned journeymen with many years of experience in proper safety procedures and best trades practices.
Safety of our crews is a core value at 101 Industries. We ensure worker safety by implementing tried and true elevated work procedures that are specifically designed for each job site. We accomplish this by establishing a written job specific safe work procedure that details the safety concerns of that project. This includes not only fall protection but material handling, rigging, hot work and site control. Once the plan is designed, all members of the crew are brought together and a pre start meeting is held. At 101 Industries we insist all managers, supervisors, and workers take an active roll in safety, personal protection and environmental protection.

The field ironworkers regularly utilize aerial lift equipment for safe and efficient access to the work zones. To ensure we have the proper equipment for the job we have established our own fleet of boom lifts and scissor lifts. We also ensure all equipment is fully maintained and certified by independent sources and all operators are fully trained and skilled in the safe use of the equipment.
When the work areas can not be accessed from aerial lifts we use traditional fall restraint and fall arrest systems consisting of rope lines, harnesses, and rope grabs. At 101 Industries we require 100% tie off for our crews.

Our crews are skilled in erection of new building steel, heavy equipment rigging, pre-engineered building erections, and heavy industrial facility modifications. Most of our heavy industrial facility modifications require very creative and elaborate rigging systems as traditional mobile lift equipment often will not fit into the plan.

To ensure our crews are safe and efficient we have a vast fleet of mobile equipment consisting of 3 manlifts (60 to 80 feet), 4 scissor lifts, 5 forklifts, 6 flat decks, a boom truck and transport trailers. We also provide extensive heavy rigging from slings, come-a-longs, chain falls, and hoists. We specialize in putting awkward items into tough spots.
Of course the structural department is supported by the other departments that 101 Industries offers. When the job requires new roof penetrations, shop fabrications, cladding work, or piping we have the skilled people to offer the proper service in these areas. All of our departments are staffed with ticketed journeymen with BC trades qualifications. Having the right person for the job is the basis of our motto "Quality through Craftsmanship".
